Over a decade of writing has left me with pages of novels, short stories, and musings, none of which have found a permanent home, nor have they reached the holy grail of any aspiring author – the publisher’s desk. This site was created as an outlet for the many pieces of writing, scattered throughout documents folders and spiral notebooks, which would otherwise never see the light of day. Featuring images from aspiring photographers, this site is dedicated to the supposition that, while the expression of creativity does not gain virtue through publicity, art is meant to be seen.
“I like too many things and get all confused and hung-up running from one falling star to another till i drop. This is the night, what it does to you. I had nothing to offer anybody except my own confusion.” – Jack Keroauc
Written over the span of eight years, The Realm is a full-length, historical fiction novel with a fantasy bent. Set in late nineteenth century London, the novel aims at creating a historically accurate backdrop, while introducing colorful characters from the doleful slums of Mile End. Meanwhile, the reader is slowly introduced to natives of a mystical land – the Realm – who have entered into our world, each with a mission of great import, and strengths beyond our imagination.
Living Up is a novel-in-progress. Chronicling the life of a young man at a crossroads, the story reads as his diary – an often cynical, narration of his move to the south, divorce, and rebirth. Chapters unfold in non-linear jumps in time and space, tied together by reoccurring themes of friendship, family, adulthood, religion, and the burden of expectations which each can place on a life in distress.
Inspiration comes in many forms. Few things drive me to write so much as a location – a place in time and space – viscerally intertwined with the senses and cemented in memory. Snapshots is a collection of short stories set in various locations around the country. Each story is bound to its setting, driven in some way by nature or the local culture.
